VINE BLACK
The best source for black in antiquity was carbon produced by charring grape vine shoots. Today we take a bluish-black very close to reputed vine black from an earth, rich in an iron ore that is called magnetite. Magnetite, natural black iron oxide, like magnet, magnesium, magnesite and manganese are named after Magnesia, a region in Greece with long history and blessed soils.
