Waterglass paints are the only mineral paints with the natural matte appearance of limewash but greater durability against acid rain and hard weather conditions.
They consist of liquid potassium silicate as binder and mineral pigments. They must be applied only upon siliceous mineral substrates, such as most of the common masonry finishings. The paint penetrates the substrate where water glass reacts with silicate and forms permanent bonds (silicification) that can last for a lifetime.

They cannot be applied on surfaces that have already been painted with organic binders (acrylate or silicone resins).
