BURNT UMBER
From the soils of Cyprus we obtain some of the finest umbers in the world. When burnt at a high temperature the umber alters and becomes dark warm-brown. Burning pigments is a technique familiar to painters since ancient times offering them the ability to add more colors on their palette.
