AZURITE
Azurite or lapis armenius – or Armenion in ancient Greece- is mineral basic carbonate of copper usually found in nature associated with malachite ( the green basic carbonate of copper). They are both spotted in copper ore deposits and one can see beautiful examples of their complex in Lavrion or Alistrati mines. For centuries, Armenion was the source of kyanon, which means bright blue, the blue of our sea, the color of our flag. Today we supply the real pigment in small doses of 20 grams -upon request only.
