VENETIAN UMBER
Umbers take their name after the latin word umbra, which means a shadow, a shade. They are natural earths, tinted by hydrated iron oxide and manganese oxide in various proportions that give them a wide palette of brownish hues. They were not much appreciated in antiquity, when people loved clear colors, though honored in our days. This beautiful umber from the Veneto region is ideal for dirty whites and beige-greige tones that please modern decoration.
