Brass is a traditional alloy of copper and zinc prized for faucets as very resistant to corrosion and anti-microbial due to the high percentage of copper (most fungi and bacteria, E.coli and salmonella included, do not survive in its presence).
The brass alloy used in our faucets is lead free to comply with the new American restrictions NSF 61 (max lead content in a faucet 0,25%). According to the United States Enviroment Protection Agency 10-20% of human exposure to lead come from drinking water and has serious health effects, especially for infants and children.
To create a new, healthier kitchen first step is choosing a safe faucet. Then you can deal with its looks out of a wide range of attractive models and plenty of finishings.
